It's not always easy to push against the tide. Sara and I spend so much time preaching the positive of life on the road, the thing we don't talk about as much is how it can be a challenge when you feel like you're living your life counter-culturally in a very real way.
In this weeks episode I speak with Sarah Nicols, who with nine years of seasonal work and travel behind her, is the longest wandering person I've spoken with. The thing about living on the road is sometimes you have moments of doubt. You can ask yourself all the questions that people around you tend to ask.
"When are you going to settle down?"
"What are you doing about a career?"
"How are you going to be able to do this long term?"
Sarah has been asking herself those questions over the last year while she's been trying to settle down in Steamboat Springs, CO, but objects in motion tend to stay in motion, and Sarah is finding it hard to stay put.
